Community Outreach

Out on a Limb Dance Company & School, is a non-profit dance company that includes both a training program and a community outreach program. Our mission embraces the ideal that dance should be within everyone’s reach, for dancers and audiences alike.

Over the past nine years, Out On a Limb Dance Company’s community outreach effort has sent over 28,000 school children to experience the joy of dance theatre productions free of charge!

Every year we offer this special invitation to several metro area schools that demonstrate a high percentage of reduced lunch rates, indicating the need for help. Through the generosity of many individuals and local merchants of the Twin Cities we have managed to keep this program alive. This year we are again, asking for your help as we have another 3200 school children waiting to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, February 29th and March 1st.

Accomplishing this year's goal will mean that we will have surpassed serving 28,000 of our community’s children, a benchmark none of us would have thought possible just a few years ago.
