One of the highlights of our year in the dance school is when the Performing Arts Ensemble (PAE) brings The Nutcracker to local malls during the holiday season. We perform a short version of the classic story, making it easy for families to stop and enjoy the show. It's amazing to watch the crowds gather as the music plays and our story unfolds! They form around every side of our huge performance space and along every side of the balcony in Rosedale Center. Dancing in that setting provides a fabulous opportunity for our students to learn to perform to all directions.

While our PAE dancers perform, we do a candy cane promotion as a way to accomplish our mission of bringing dance within everyone's reach for students and audiences alike. With each candy cane, we hand out a note telling families that we offer free classes in January to all new students. At first, we thought of the promotion as treats parents could use as stocking stuffers. Now, we give them right to the kids and tell them it is a gift from the Sugarplum Fairy, and they absolutely love and adore that! We have been fortunate to spread the love of dance and bring dance to many, many people through our Nutcracker performances. This year we present the show at Rosedale Center on Monday nights through December 21. We will also be at Maplewood Mall on Saturday, December 12. It's going to be a fun holiday season, and we are excited to share it with you!
