Amber Rosah Keeley | School Director
Amber has been a ballet teacher and choreographer all over the Twin Cities since 1993. Her performing career includes local and national dance companies such as Minnesota Dance Theatre, Minnesota Ballet Academy, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Ballet Arts MN and Out on a Limb Dance Company. In addition, she has worked with the Moscow Ballet and has taught ballet in Tokyo, Japan. Amber has been School Director and company member of Out on a Limb since it’s debut in 2001. Amber is a ballet coach for state and national award-winning high school and collegiate dance teams.
Austen has been immersed in the arts from a very young age. He has been studying and performing dance for over 15 years under the training of Linda Muir-Finney. He has been teaching competitive and non-competitive dance for seven years. Austen has earned his associates degree in filmmaking: post production and editing. His two greatest passions are dance and filmmaking, bringing these two art forms together is his life purpose.
Rachel grew up dancing in the Twin Cities. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, Spanish, and Dance. In addition to teaching dance at the Sheridan Arts Magnet School in Minneapolis, Rachel is an assistant Varsity coach with the Totino-Grace E'gals, and a production manager for Crash Dance Productions, a contemporary dance collective. Working with students of all ages across the country as a master teacher and choreographer, Rachel specializes in contemporary and jazz dance.
Carisa is one of the original Out on a Limb company members and has been teaching with us since our school opened. She strongly believes in pushing her students to be the best they can be! Carisa has been dancing since the age of 3 and instructing dance in the Twin Cities since 2000. She feels her purpose is to instill the passion for dance into all of her students.
A dancer since the age of 3, Allison grew up studying ballet at St. Croix Ballet Academy in Stillwater, MN. In 2005, she discovered Out on a Limb, fell in love with these wonderful people and dove in head first, broadening her training to jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater and tap. Allison loves performing as an Out on a Limb company member throughout the year and adores her amazing students she has the privilege of teaching. When she's not teaching or dancing, Allison is a freelance graphic designer in the Twin Cities.
Since her first class at Out on a Limb at five years old, Gabbi has fallen in love with dance and Limb. After assistant teaching for six years, she began teaching her own class and could not be happier. The constant support and love from friends and teachers encourages her to continue growing as a dancer and as a person. Performance weeks are Gabbi's favorite times of the year, her favorite shows have been Peter Pan in 2014 and La Sylphide in 2013.
Cara has been dancing with Out on a Limb since 2003. She graduated in 2014 from the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists where she trained in both musical theater and dance. Currently, she is a student at the University of Minnesota, where she is exploring her passion for both the arts and social change. Past dance opportunities for Cara have included training with companies such as the Moscow Ballet, the Martha Graham Company, Shapiro and Smith, La Escuela de Danza Margartia Fernandez, and Black Label Movement.
Originally from the Twin Cities, Kim was born into a family of entertainers and dance instructors. She has spent her 40+ year career performing, teaching and nurturing the talent of young people here in the Twin Cities Area. She has taught master classes in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Tokyo. She considers her special talent is that of recognizing and developing talent in others, and thrives on seeing the best being brought out of young, dedicated performers.
Clare Jodzio McDermott
Clare earned her B.A. in Theatre at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, IA in 1997. She then moved back to the Twin Cities and helped form The Chameleon Theatre Circle. She worked as a founding board member for seven years. During her time with the company she was involved in numerous productions both performing and directing. After taking a hiatus to have two great kids she is excited to be sharing her knowledge of theatre.
Mykala has been dancing for 24 years and teaching students of all ages for over a decade. She has had intense training in many dance styles and has taken workshops with some of the country’s top contemporary and jazz instructors. She’s also a certified 200hr yoga instructor and enjoys integrating anatomy, mental focus, and body awareness into her dance classes. Mykala holds a bachelor's degree in English, and master's degrees in Human Development and Counseling and Psychological Services.
Tina’s 23 year performing career included principle and soloist work with Minnesota Dance Theatre, Ballet MN, Ballet Arts MN, Ballet of the Dolls, Savannah Ballet, and the Contemporary Ballet Company. She holds her BS from Radford University in Virginia. Tina has taught Ballet classes for Ballet Arts MN, Ballet MN, the Classical Ballet Academy, the Chinese Dance Theater and is currently teaching at the University of MN, Metro Dance Center, Dance Tech, Tu Dance and Out on a Limb. Her current scholarly research is in Mind-Body Centering which deeply enriches her work.
Born and raised in St. Paul, MN, Kerry spent her early years dancing with Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Vienna State Opera Ballet and Ballet of the Dolls. She freelanced in New York for almost a decade working with Avila/Weeks Dance, Arianne Anthony & Co and Ancient of Days Dance Theater. In the Twin Cities Kerry has taught ballet for TU Dance, James Sewell Ballet, St. Paul Ballet, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Zenon and SPCPA. She currently dances with Deborah Jinza Thayer/Movement Architecture and JDCo and is certified in the Gyrotonic Expansion System.
Clare has been dancing since age 3, and she knew from an early age that dance would always be a part of her life! Her favorite styles include hip hop, jazz and contemporary. She is thrilled to be a company member and teacher at Out on a Limb. Clare has been with OOAL since 2014, and some of her favorite roles include the evil stepmother in Cinderella and the Ariel the Little Mermaid. She can't wait to be a part of all of Limb's future shows!
Jeremy is a proud native of the Twin Cities. He began his professional career with Out on a Limb Dance Company in 2001 and earned his BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota in 2010. Locally, Jeremy has danced with the MN Opera, Minnesota Dance Theater, Flying Foot Forum, Keane Sense of Rhythm, Eclectic Edge Ensemble, Christopher Watson Dance Company, and others. New York dance credits include Dusan Tynek Dance Company and The Bang Group. Regional musical theater credits include Fiddler on the Roof (New York), 9 to 5 (Ohio), Annie Get Your Gun (Wisconsin), and CATS (Rhode Island).
Erin is a modern dancer in the Twin Cities. She is a former Out on a Limb student, and she studied dance and choreography at Gustavus Adolphus College, where she worked with choreographers such as Stuart Pimsler and Stephan Koplowitz. Erin has performed in the Minnesota Fringe Festival with Jeffrey Peterson Dance and is currently dancing with One Dance Co. Minnesota.
Andrea is a fourth generation dancer in her family and began her dance training at the age of three. She trained locally with multiple dance studios and nationally with Pittsburgh Youth Ballet and Joffrey Ballet. Andrea was a company member with OOAL from 2001-2013 when she retired from performing to take a more active role as a choreographer and teacher. Andrea teaches a variety of dance styles at OOAL and loves watching her students progress throughout the year. Her favorite thing to remind her students of is that you don't have to be the best in your class to be successful, you have to be willing to work hard, and that will make you successful!
Madison is thrilled to be a teacher at Out on a Limb as well as an Apprentice to the Company. At the age of five, Madison first discovered her love of dance and it has continued to thrive within the Limb community. Madison loves all forms of dance and believes in a broad education taking every opportunity to expand her abilities by incorporating related areas of aerial arts, martial arts, and musical theater. She is currently in school at St. Paul Conservatory for the Performing Artist and plans to pursue a career in dance.
Marley grew up with a love of performing; dancing, singing, and acting for as long as she can remember. She received her dance training at Virginia Luoma Dance Studio, Keane on Dance, and Out on a Limb. Marley is a graduate of the University of Minnesota's College of Design, and is also a dance instructor at White Bear Dance Center in White Bear Lake, MN. Marley loves sharing the studio and the stage with all of Out on a Limb’s creative and passionate dancers.
Since childhood, Elisabeth has trained in dance at a variety of studios in the Twin Cities area. She has been with Out on a Limb since 2006, taking classes as part of the training program and is excited to continue her journey as an apprentice to the company! Elisabeth graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mayo School of Health Sciences in Rochester, MN in May 2013. She is currently employed as a Physical Therapist working with adults and children of all ages. In addition, Elisabeth teaches Strength and Conditioning classes in Out on a Limb's training program.
Kathryn has been dancing since the age of 5 and came to Out on a Limb at age 12. As a student, Kathryn loved the supportive atmosphere at Limb, and she strives to create an engaging, creative environment for all of her wonderful students. When she's not dancing, Kathryn is a graphic designer in the Twin Cities.
Benjamin is a Minneapolis-based actor, devisor, and writer. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2012 with honors and a degree in Theatre with an emphasis in physical theatre and composition. His company, Elephant Games Productions, was awarded a MN Fringe Festival Audience Pick for their original piece, CLOCKED (2013). He shares his small room with his ferret, Eleanor, who regularly wakes him at indecent hours.
